Content
Each unit weighs between 125g and 80g. In 1 kilo you will receive between 8 and 12 units.
Organoleptic characteristics
Fruit of thick and uniform size. Bright light yellowish green flesh, with a pleasantly balanced sweet and sour flavor and perfume.
It is a climacteric fruit, which means that it is harvested when it reaches physiological maturity but continues to ripen until the point of consumption after harvesting. Fruits usually arrive hard. Keep them at room temperature in a paper bag with an apple or a banana until they reach the point of consumption. If you receive a piece ready to eat, you can put it in the refrigerator or eat it at the moment.
Harvesting period
Between October and November
Harvesting and shipping
We harvest our kiwis the same day they are shipped. We harvest the ones we notice are at their optimum ripening point. We then put them in a recycled paper bag and add them to your box without plastic! And that same day in the afternoon we hand them over to our transport driver.
Origin
La Florentina
In 1986 Vicente Borras, professor of Phytopathology and organic farmer by devotion, started a personal project that has become one of the oldest and most emblematic organic farms in Spain: La Florentina.
That same year Gonzalo Úrculo was born, who in 2009 founded Naranjas del Carmen together with his brother Gabriel.
After several lunches and trips around the countryside, Vicente Borras and Gonzalo Úrculo reached an agreement so that the Masia el Carmen team would continue the management of their farm with the commitment of Vicente's help "as long as the body holds out".
Since August 2023 we have been managing the 17 hectares of biodiversity that Vicente has been creating for 37 years. This farm grows pomegranates, persimmons, kiwis, peaches, flat peaches and figs surrounded by Mediterranean forest fences, amphibian ponds, a reservoir for auxiliary fauna, bats, etc.
