Origin
La Florentina

In 1986 Vicente Borras, professor of Phytopathology and organic farmer by vocation, started a personal project that has become one of the oldest and most emblematic organic farms in Spain: La Florentina. That same year was born Gonzalo Úrculo, who in 2009 founded Naranjas del Carmen together with his brother Gabriel. After several lunches and strolls around the fields, Vicente Borras and Gonzalo Úrculo came to an agreement so that the Masia el Carmen team would continue the management of their farm with the commitment of Vicente's help "as long as the body holds out". Since August 2023 we have been managing the 17 hectares of biodiversity that Vicente has been creating for 37 years. On this farm pomegranates, persimmons, kiwis, peaches, flat peaches and figs are grown surrounded by Mediterranean forest fences, amphibian ponds, a reservoir for auxiliary fauna, bats, etc.
